DEFIANCE
(Based on Phosphoric acid, compounded detergents and
surfactants)
DEFIANCE bath solution is made up by mixing
1 volume of the chemical with 3 volumes of water, and used at Room Temperature
(25ºC). When quicker result is needed, the bath chemical may be heated up
to 60ºC, BUT NOT BEYOND THIS TEMPERATURE.
Generally used by dip; may be used by brushing method also, where the volume of work does not call for a dip process, or when components cannot be dipped either due to dimension or contour. Dip Process : Dip the components in DEFIANCE bath chemical for between 10 - 30 minutes depending upon the nature and extent of rust; when loading , ensure that the components do not get 'sandwiched', thus preventing effective contact of chemical throughout the surface area of components; also, if the components are too large to be fully immersed inside the chemical content of the tank, do not put one side into the chemical first and then the other side. When you find that rust has been completely removed, take the components out, and immediately and thoroughly rinse in water. Make sure that the pH of rinse water is not below 5.5. After rinse, without losing time, transfer the components to the next process chemical. If removal of light films of oils and rust is not followed by another chemical process, do not rinse the components; just wipe the surface dry with clean white, starch-free cloth. The chemical balance of bath solution should be periodically checked and be brought back to recommended parameters promptly. Brush Method :
If
components have heavy oil or other superficial impurities and if you find
that DEFIANCE bath solution is unable to remove such heavy impurities,
pre-clean the components using solvent or our product Emulsional SC. This
will remove heavy oils and will leave only thin films of oil etc
.
PEDIGREE (Based on a mixture of acids, compounded detergents &
surfactants)
Recommended for use by dip process.
PEDIGREE bath solution is made up by mixing 1 volume PEDIGREE with 2 volumes water.
Do not heat the bath solution. Where the volume of work does not call for
a dip process, or when components cannot be dipped either due to dimension
or contour, the chemical may be used by brushing method; wearing of goggles,
gloves, aprons and boots made out of acid resistant material should be worn.
A thorough rinse in water follows; the components after the rinse should
be immediately taken to the next step in the metal pre-treatment process.
